Peter McDougall paperweights. PMcD
Peter is former Manager and Craftsman at Perthshire Paperweights and has thirty eight years of Glassmaking experience behind him.
Peter started PMcD Glass in September 2002 and is carrying on the tradition of making high quality Millefiori Paperweights. Every paperweight made contains the unique PMcD cane to verify the authenticity and originality of the product.
Millefiori Paperweights.
Peter is carrying on the tradition of Perthshire Paperweights to produce the ancient craft of millefiori glass paperweights. The art of millefiori can be traced back to Roman times and means ‘ a thousand flowers’ an apt description of the process of using the cut sections of varied and coloured glass rods to form the intricate designs.
Lampwork Paperweights.
In addition to millefiori Peter also produces lampwork designs where coloured glass is prepared and shaped to make intricate designs such as flowers or birds.
Annual and Limited editions.
Annual edition weights are produced for the duration of a calendar year and then a new range is designed for the next year. Limited edition weights are only produced in a finite number, often 30 or less, and are boxed with a certificate of authenticity. Both the annual and limited editions are already becoming collectable as the PMcD name and reputation spreads worldwide.
